You must be an expert in MVC or similar design patterns, browser degradation, browser layout, css, DHTML, Javascript, and AJAX. You will be responsible for the software architecture and design of advanced interface features that our site uses to remain at the edge of technology. You must have strong experience with the design and implementation of intuitive interfaces that delight users with elegance and simplicity. You must be familiar with web site load optimization techniques.
A little about the role:
- Develop optimized/cross platform front-end in CSS/XHTML, Javascript, AJAX
- Integrate front-end layer with RESTful web services
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers and usability engineers to refine the user experience
- Show product ownership and strong inter-personal skills
- Interface with UI community to notice latest trends and emerging technologies
Skills and abilities you should be bringing to the table:
- 5+ years of web development experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Strong trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
- 2+ years of CSS (tableless layouts)
- 4+ years of PHP
- 4+ years of DHTML
- 2+ years of any flavor of Unix
- i18n and l10n web site building
- BSCS or equivalent is required; MS in Computer Science a plus
Highly Desired Skills:
- Experience with an agile development process (Scrum, XP, Crystal)
- Familiarity with Java, RESTful web services
- Use of source control tools as part of your coding
- Databases, MySQL
- Experience building software using OOP principles
